Author Elly Swartz visited Brown School and inspired fourth graders to be uniquely themselves!

An author of five books, Elly shared her journey to becoming a writer and told us about each of her books, including the challenges and mental health struggles her characters face and overcome. Students were reminded that imperfect is beautiful and that we are all many things, including awesome, kind, and brave!
We are grateful to Elly for inspiring us to be ourselves!

Force & Magnetism with The Discovery Museum
Third graders learned about Force and Magnetism with the Discovery Museum!
Our third graders had a visit from the Discovery Museum! They learned about the basics of force and motion and explored ideas of balanced and unbalanced forces while working with and learning about magnetic force. They then built an original moving toy of their own design that used the force of magnetism to operate.
Thank you to the Discovery Museum for this wonderful presentation and to YOU for your continued support of the PTO, which allows us to provide these programs for our budding scientists!
Monster Bash Book Fair Recap
Thank you to everyone who came out to shop our book fair at the pancake breakfast, volunteered to help classes shop, and set up and break down the event. We hope all the students love their new books!
With total sales of $13,788, we think this might be a record for Brown School! Through Scholastic dollars earned by hosting a fair, we were able to purchase over $550 in books directly for the library and around $700 in books for teachers’ classroom libraries, as well as provide vouchers to families in need and a free book to each child who visited the fair. What a success!
If you loved the book fair, don’t despair! We are hosting a spring fair in April. Thank you, Brown School, for all your support towards our school, staff, teachers, and students!
Pancake Breakfast & Book Fair
We are grateful to our Brown School families, volunteers, and sponsors for an incredible Pancake Breakfast yesterday! The cafeteria was full of smiling faces as we gathered for a special 30+ year Brown School tradition.
Special thanks to Principal McCann for serving up pancakes and providing a story time as well! We hope you all enjoyed the breakfast and the Book Fair!
And of course a huge thank you to all of our fabulous sponsors!
