Who We Are
The Brown School PTO is a volunteer organization comprised of parents, teachers, and staff committed to enriching our children's educational experience. By supporting the educational needs of teachers and staff, facilitating communication between parents and teachers, and fostering partnership between school and community, we aim to do our part to help all our students achieve.
Membership
Membership for the PTO and its committees is open to all members of the Brown Elementary School community. General Meetings are open to the public, and all parents and teachers are welcome. The school staff is represented at each meeting by the principal and a current Brown School teacher.

The PTO meets the 1st Tuesday of each month and has several general meetings each school year. See the Meeting Information page for details.
Charter and Guidelines
The purpose of the PTO is to aid the students of the Brown School in achieving their fullest potential by providing educational and personal enrichment, and by encouraging the cooperative interaction of parents, teachers and the community.
In providing educational and personal enrichment to the students of Brown School, this organization shall support the students by engaging in fundraising projects, supporting the various student enrichment activities, providing a forum for parent, teacher and student interaction through community events, and promoting open communication between parents, teachers, The Brown School and the community.
The PTO board will be made up of two Co-Presidents, two Vice Presidents of Fundraising, two Vice Presidents of Volunteers, a Treasurer, a Recording Secretary, a Communications Secretary, the principal and a teacher representative.
Co-President is a two-year position and is not to be held for more than two consecutive terms. Expiration of the terms is to alternate assuring that the incoming Co-President is working with a Co-President who is in the second year of that position, if possible.
The position of Treasurer is to be held for a minimum of two years.
No other positions have a minimum term.
