School-wide Author Visit: Maureen Harrington and Ivy, the French Bulldog
Ivy and her owner Maureen travel around New England providing enrichment assemblies for elementary schools. The book, Ivy the Very Determined Dog, is a true story about a dog Ivy, who uses a set of wheels to get around after becoming paralyzed in her back legs. Ivy inspires us all to never give up, to believe in ourselves, and embrace our individuality. And most importantly, to always “keep on rolling whatever you do, and never let anything get the better of you."
In advance of Ivy's visit, families have the opportunity to buy a discounted book signed by Maureen and Ivy. Keep an eye out for the order form in your child's red folders next week. Forms are due back December 19th.
Brown School Auction
Mark your calendar! We are thrilled to announce our upcoming school auction on March 21, 2025, at Sandy Burr Country Club! This bi-annual event is a wonderful opportunity for our community to come together, enjoy a night of socializing, delicious food, live music, and bid on incredible auction items—all while supporting our children, teachers, and the amazing programs sponsored by the PTO. This auction is our largest fundraiser and supports the PTO for two years!
We are asking for your help to make this event a success. Will you consider contributing to the auction? Here are some ideas:
A pair of tickets to see the Red Sox, Celtics, Bruins, Patriots, or a local college game.
A stay at a family Cape House or a nearby vacation home.
If you have a special skill, consider offering a Private Chef experience, a Custom baked cake, a Photography session, Design consultations, or any other unique service.
Additionally, if you work for a local company that might be interested in becoming a monetary sponsor, we would love to hear from you! We offer excellent sponsorship opportunities that provide great marketing exposure. Please email Sarah McNeeley at sarah.mcneeley@gmail.com if you would like to donate an item or skill or talk about a sponsorship for your company!

This year, we will once again work together as a community to reach a school-wide goal of donating 1,000 items! To donate, please send in items in your child’s backpack so they can bring them to their classroom.
Teachers will discuss the importance of giving back in their classrooms, and Principal Cole-Harms will have a fun surprise for the students to celebrate Brown School meeting the food donation goal!
Please donate what you can! Let’s embody the NSC logo of “Neighbors Helping Neighbors” and make this food drive a huge success! Thank you!
