Ivy the Very Determined Dog

Last week, Ivy and her owner Maureen came to Brown for a school-wide presentation and reading of Maureen's book "Ivy the Very Determined Dog."  The book is a true story about a dog Ivy, who uses a set of wheels to get around after becoming paralyzed in her back legs. Ivy inspires us all to never give up, to believe in ourselves, and embrace our individuality.

All grades got to hear Maureen read Ivy's story as well as learn a lot about Ivy overcoming adversity to continue to do the things she loves, like play ball with her friends and run on the beach. Ivy also strutted down her very own red carpet with and without her wheels.  As Ivy says “keep on rolling whatever you do, and never let anything get the better of you!"
